Buying Home When getting ready to buy a new home its important to know what you can afford. Make sure you already have a household budget in place, it will make the process so much easier if you already know what the your extent of your means are. When working on the pre-qualification process you will need to make sure that you are not making any substantially large purchase. So don’t go out and buy anything like a new car or boat. Remember your expenses are taken into account, along with your income.
Getting Pre-qualified and Pre-approved. You will first get pre-qualified with a lender this is a preliminary step to the process in getting pre-approved. This needs to be done at the start of your home buying experience, before you even start shopping around.
Finding a Good Agent. A buyer’s agent will help you shop homes that are listed on the market. They will walk you through the process of working with a seller and the negotiation process.
(A listing agent helps the seller list and market their home and negotiate with buyers.)
Shopping For Your Home This for many is the fun part, shopping for your new home. It is very important at this stage to clearly communicate with your agent and let them know what you are looking for in a home. The more you express your needs and concerns to your agent the better they can help to meet your needs and find your new home.
Making an Offer Before you make an offer you will want to do some research on the home of your choice. Your real estate agent will be able to assist you in this area as you check comparable homes in the area. You can also attend an open house to get more information. Stay within your budget, keep in mind you will have closing cost.
Inspections. Don’t skip this step. Always have a home inspected before you buy it. You don’t want to be stuck with a problem years down the road that you didn’t know about and have it cost you in the end.
Finalize. As long as there are no counter offers once the inspections and contingencies have been addressed and if the seller accepts your offer you can finalize and sign your contract.
